Banquet

When Christian IV invited guests to dinner at Rosenborg Castle in the 1620s, the table was set with a special table cloth that would be the focal point of the meal and the festivities. The tablecloth featured motifs of elements that were typical of a Renaissance feast and, not least, an interwoven Christian IV monogram. Now Georg Jensen Damask is launching a modern interpretation of the historic tablecloth in the colours Pale Yellow and Soft Rose. The banquet tablecloth is photographed at Rosenborg Castle.

Bent Georg Jensen

At the age of 10 Bent Georg Jensen was sent to weaving school during the summer vacations and received after schooling an education as a trained textile engineer.

Malene Hvidt

Malene Hvidt is very much a product of her father and grandfather, architects Henrik and Peter Hvidt. Her understanding of the skill of the hands and the use of quality materials is important to her work as an architect for the design studio Spacon & X, of which she is co-owner.

Christian Ravnbak

Christian Ravnbak has worked with flowers since his gap year in France at 16. Here, he became infatuated with daffodils and mimosas.

Bodil Bødtker-Næss

After Bodil Bødtker-Næss (1942-1988) finished school in Tårbæk, she first entered The Design School and later the School of Arts and Crafts.

Rebekka Notkin

When Rebekka Notkin trained as a goldsmith 25 years ago, she received a medal from Queen Margrethe II of Denmark for her well-executed craftsmanship. It was the starting point for a long and successful career as a jewellery designer. Since then, Notkin has been busy honing her skills. Recently, she has begun to explore new materials to refine her craft.

A Christmas table doesn't have to be 'perfectly fashionable' when As Øland sets it. She likes things to be personal and not too neat and proper, and her guests shouldn't be afraid of spilling something on the tablecloth.
